Geranienfeld

Alto Adige wines, from the valley floor to almost a thousand metres

Fresh, precise Alto Adige DOC wines from South Tyrol, grown on porphyry, gravel and Dolomite rock.

Red geraniums in bloom

Geranienfeld means “field of geraniums”

The name recalls the flower-lined balconies of South Tyrolean farmhouses and villages, the region’s most familiar image. We chose it because it speaks of a clear bond with Alto Adige, its beauty and its culture.

Our vineyards grow on sunny slopes between forests and Alpine peaks. High elevation, a cool mountain climate and mineral-rich soils give wines of elegance, freshness and character, each one a direct expression of its terroir.

Our idea is simple: make wines that taste like South Tyrol, caring for the land with artisanal attention and sustainable choices.

Every wine has its altitude

In Alto Adige, altitude decides almost everything: the swing between warm days and cold nights preserves acidity and aroma, while soils change from one slope to the next. Lagrein loves the warmth of the alluvial valley floor; Kerner climbs to nearly a thousand metres, on poor, stony ground.

Three soils, three characters

  • Porphyry

    Porphyry

Warm, deep alluvial soils with porphyry sediments give structure and ripe fruit to Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon and Lagrein.

  • Diorite and quartz phyllite

    Diorite and quartz phyllite

Gravelly, stony, poor and free-draining soils lift the aromatic drive of Gewürztraminer and Kerner.

  • Dolomite rock

    Dolomite rock

Calcareous Dolomite deposits over porphyry bring finesse and a fine tannic weave to Pinot Noir.
